The First Two Steps in Successful Home Staging and Home Sales

Most people wait until they have a contract on their house before they do these two things, but if you do them “pre-listing” you will set yourself ahead of your competition and you’ll make life easier for yourself when it comes time to move.
Pre-pack and pre-inspect.
Staging your home for sale is just something you have to do, whether you like it or not (you know that, don’t you?) A good portion of the process of home staging involves cleaning, de-cluttering and de-personalizing your home, and those things generally involve making stuff disappear, right? Right. So, rather than shove the stuff into a closet somewhere (which is just going to look messy and messy storage areas give the impression that there is not enough storage space in the house) why not pack it up now? You’re going to have to pack this stuff up at some point to move it to your new house, so use the home staging process to do it and get it over with now.
Make it even easier by having three piles of “stuff”: throw away, give away and pack. You will no doubt be thrilled at how you streamline your “stuff” and find you have less to pack and move when the day comes.
Get your house pre-inspected. Yeah, I know, the house will be inspected when it goes under contract anyway, so you think it sounds like a waste of money to do it now. But, wouldn’t you rather know now what’s “wrong” with your house so you can do something about it?
